Candy Liu is completing her honours in Psychology at the University of New South Wales, Australia, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dani Navarro. Her research examines decision making and cognitive development in pre-schoolers. Under the supervision of Associate Professor Eva Kimonis, Candy is also conducting a research project examining whether callous-unemotional traits moderate the association between different parenting practices and child conduct problems. Candy is a recipient of UNSW Summer Vacation Research Scholarship.
Outside of her studies, Candy is a Senior Behaviour Therapist and Early Intervention Consultant for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has a strong background in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy as well as play-based approaches to early intervention under the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). Candy is also a probational Telephone Crisis Supporter. Candy is kind-hearted and compassionate in her therapeutic approach. She firmly believes that attentive and responsive caregiving can make a world of difference to a child’s development.
